Dr. Thomas Bender, MD, is a Board-certified Dermatologist with Advanced Dermatology and Skin Care Centre, and was awarded the Patient’s Choice Award again for 2011, 2012, 2014. He also won the Most Compassionate Doctor Award in 2014. He has been featured on many local television stations and was also asked to be featured on “The Doctors TV Show.”


Ronald Johnston, MD, is a Board-certified Dermatologist who specializes in clinical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology, and is highly skilled in the use of medical lasers for both cosmetic and traditional procedures.

Dr. Johnston is an acknowledged expert in his field. He was the author of an international dermatology textbook in 2012 and numerous articles in peer review journals over the years. Additionally, Dr. Johnston is an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida (USF) College of Medicine in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD).


Dr. Stanford earned his B.S. degree in Forestry Management from Mississippi State University before earning his medical degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his internship in general surgery at Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Virginia and dermatology residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Stanford devoted over ten years of his medical career to serving in the United States Navy before opening Deep South Dermatology in 1996. He is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology. He is also a fellow member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Alabama Dermatology Society, and the Academy of Mohs Surgeons. Dr. Reeder attended the University of Virginia, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and earned multiple honors including her undergraduate degree with Distinction with a Major in History and a Minor in French.  She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, where she became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and graduated Magna Cum Laude.  She then completed two years of residency training in the Department of Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham as well as a Dermatology residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was Chief Resident. She also completed a fellowship in photomedicine, lasers and follicular disorders in the Department of Dermatology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She has authored numerous textbook chapters and articles in peer reviewed journals. Additionally, she has given presentations at various national and international Dermatology conferences. She enjoys treating patients of all ages, including children and adults.


William Henghold, M.D. dedicates his dermatologist surgery practice to patients with skin cancer. He is a fellowship-trained Mohs Micrographic and Reconstructive Surgeon who has performed more than 15,000 Mohs surgical cases.

A “military brat” and former resident of North West Florida, he attended Niceville High School while his father was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base. Furthering his education in Ohio, he graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Dayton with a degree in chemistry. In 1992, Dr. Henghold earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. He served a residency in Dermatology at University Hospitals of Cleveland and completed his formal medical and surgical training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.

Dr. Henghold served honorably on active duty for eight years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, receiving numerous awards and decorations, and achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Throughout his distinguished military career he held a number of leadership positions, including Chief of the Department of Medicine at Martin Army Community Hospital in Ft. Benning, Georgia. He completed his military tour as Chief of Dermatology at Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii.

Dr. Henghold’s commitment to education is apparent in his research and publications, including multiple journal articles as well as chapters in current medical textbooks related to dermatologic surgery. In addition, he has lectured at numerous educational meetings and seminars. He is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and a member of Escambia County Medical Society. He is a member of the medical staff at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, where he has admitting and operating room privileges. Dr. Henghold maintains licensure in both Florida and Alabama.


Dr. Wharton earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University in 1990. He graduated at the top of his class from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1994. His residency in dermatology was completed at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. While in private practice Dr. Wharton finished specialized training in dermatopathology and was on the faculty at the University of Arkansas in the Department of Dermatology. He is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology. Dr. Wharton is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the International Society of Dermatopathology, the American Society of MOHS Surgery, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, and the American Society of Dermatopathology.

Gregory Sharp, PA-C

Greg Sharp is a Certified Physician’s Assistant in our Alabama clinics. In addition to dermatology, he has extensive experience in wound care and surgery. Greg grew up in Mobile, where he graduated from Murphy High School, and attended undergraduate at Auburn University. He then attended the University of South Alabama for Physician Assistant Sciences school where he earned a Master of Health Sciences. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a Fellow of the Alabama Association of Physician Assistants. During his free time, Greg enjoys the outdoors and volunteering in the community.

Jessica Davis, PA-C

Jessica grew up in the gulf coast area. After graduating from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL; Jessica has been practicing in dermatology for over a decade. She has a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies and a Bachelors in Biomedical Sciences.

Jessica believes her role as a Physician Assistant allows her to help, serve, and show compassion towards others-which are qualities she believes in! Jessica finds it a rewarding experience each day to build relationships with patients, develop their treatment plans, and visually follow up during their improvement process.
Jessica specializes in both general and cosmetic dermatology, treating many dermatologic issues such as: acne, psoriasis, warts, molluscum, vitiligo, and many other common skin conditions. Jessica also provides services within our medical spa. When Jessica is not working, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children.

Kellie Toth, PA-C

Kellie Toth has lived on the Gulf Coast most of her life. She grew up in Fairhope, beginning at the age of five. She earned her Bachelor of Science and then completed her Masters degree in the Physician Assistant program at the University of South Alabama. She is board-certified with NCCPA, and she is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Alabama Society of Physician Assistants. Following graduation, she practiced in multiple specialties for a couple years. Missing home, she returned to the gulf coast and spent nine years in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. In the summer of 2016, she transitioned into dermatology by joining Advanced Dermatology and couldn’t be happier! She finds great pleasure in serving the needs of the citizens of the Gulf coast. Outside of work, she loves being a mother  and a wife, and loves the outdoors. The perfect day for Kellie would include her family, a hike, and a sail on the bay at sunset!


Amanda grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, but relocated to Mobile in 2005 after hurricane Katrina. Amanda is a licensed esthetician and has worked successfully in the cosmetic and skin care industry for over ten years. She has continued her education and is a licensed educator as well. Amanda has a passion for skin physiology and histology, as well as ingredient chemistry. Her education gives her the knowledge to customize treatments, product selections, skin care regimes for all skin types and conditions, as well as educate patients on how to care for their skin.

Pre-procedure Sun Exposure Warnings
All patients should avoid tanning beds and especially before any treatment.
If you have an IPL, CO2, Picosure, or Excel V procedure scheduled-remember to avoid sun exposure 4 weeks prior to your procedure and 4 weeks following your procedure.

Photodynamic Therapy patients should avoid sun exposure 48 hours post procedure.
All hair removal patients should shave prior to your appointment and avoid sun exposure especially tanning beds.
