Dr. Kachaturoff was born in Detroit, Michigan and headed west with her parents at age 5, to grow up in Southern California. She enjoyed swimming in the ocean and hiking and camping in the mountains and deserts. She lived in California until the completion of a BA in Chemistry and BS in Biology at University of California at Irvine.
She moved to the East coast to attend the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. For Dr. Kachaturoff, New York was quite an experience! She hiked the neighborhoods and parks of the “Big City” and spent a lot of time looking for Mexican food in New York City…It had not yet arrived in 1979!
Returning full circle to Detroit in 1980, she completed her specialty training at Henry Ford Hospital and Medical Center. After board certification, she spent a short time working for another dermatologist before opening her own practice in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI where she remained in solo dermatology practice until 2016.
After that, still interested in dermatology, she investigated other options and found a perfect fit in locum tenens work. While offering the joy of treating patients, it allows part-time work and the opportunity to explore diverse areas of the country for several weeks or months at a time. She is looking forward to her upcoming time in Mobile, a new city to discover!
