Ashley Colston, is a Native to Mobile. Her background is in Broadcast Journalism where she studied and graduated from Troy University in 2003. After realizing that Journalism was not quite the right niche for her, she felt led to move to Atlanta to pursue a more meaningful career. By the Grace of God within three years time, Ashley had successfully found her true calling and career in Dermatology and Aesthetics and graduated with a 4.0 from Atlanta Institute Of Aesthetics in 2007. For the next ten years, she would further her career in Dermatology as a Medical Esthetician for Dr. Candance-Kimbrough Green, Dr. Anna Pare’ and Dr. Richard Detlefs, among other reputable Dermatologists at Dermatology Consultants Medical Office in both locations of Buckhead and Marietta.
Ashley has worked with Palomar Starlux Fractional Laser for acne scarring, stretch marks and keyloids, IPL laser regarding lentigenes and rosacea, Apogee Elite Hair Removal Laser, Xtrac Laser for Psoriasis, Vitiligo and Eczema, PDT Blue Light regarding Aktinis Keraterosis and acne, Coolsculpting and Vanquish for non-invasive fat removal and Exilis for tightening and toning to name a few.
Over the course of her twelve year career Ashley, has been licensed as an Esthetician not only in Georgia and Alabama but in 2009 she took her state board exams for New York City and earned her third Aesthetic license. She resided in Manhattan and was hired by The Luxurious Setai Wall Street Spa and Condominium as lead Esthetician. SkinCeuticals was the line that they carried making Ashley very knowledgeable about the proper formulation of Vitamin C and how the skin should be able to recognize it and receive it by way of being both water and fat soluble. “The importance of an ingredient clean line with results that are backed by science takes all the guess work out of wondering whether or not your patient will truly be satisfied with the results that we as Estheticians can see so far out in advance.’’
Upon returning to Atlanta from New York City, Ashley earned her certification in full body Manual Lymphatic Drainage in order to obtain better results for coolsculpting patients. During the course of ‘’apoptosis’’ or cellular death it would greatly benefit the patient to receive a relaxing Lymphatic Drainage session in order to move trace minerals, toxins, and dead fat cells out of the body by way of the bladder.
What unfortunately led Ashley back home to Mobile from Atlanta was the illness and passing of her dear mother Pamela Colston. In an effort to keep her mind clear and as therapy, she began job seeking right away for a position in Dermatology. After One year and seven months since relocating from Atlanta, Ashley was named Esthetician of the year for 2018 at Massage Envy.
In pursuit of the ever-changing and growing field of Dermatology, Ashley has once again been led to the right place at the right time. She is super excited and extremely honored to be part of such a decorated and established team of Doctors here at Advanced Dermatology And Skin Care Center and looks forward to establishing long-lasting patient relationships, as she believes that the patient ALWAYS comes first and should be treated as she would want to be treated. Educating her patients and thoroughly answering all their questions is very important to her.
‘’I am incredibly blessed to be able to do what I love for a living.’’ ‘’ Besides making patients more beautiful on the outside, I believe it’s just as important to make them feel comfortable on the inside.’’ ‘’Right there in the skin they’re in.’’
